Fun fact: for many many years I really wanted to be a geologist. I loved collecting rocks and learning about all the variations. To this day, whenever I go on vaction, I make sure to find a few unique rocks and bring them home with me.
But I digress.
One of the most beautiful forms of rocks are GEODES! Geodes are hollow rocks that are lined with sparkly crystals of many colors. Here is a slice of an amethyst geode:
You guys will be creating your own geode using markers and water. This lesson was created by @marshallelementaryart. There are a zillion different possibilities and color schemes that you could do, so don't worry about copying exactly! It will be beautiful no matter what! Salt provides a really interesting texture and glitter provides an extra oomph of sparkle, but both of these are optional.
Happy art making!
